Our Mission

Since 1875, the purpose of Woodford County Mutual Insurance Company has been to serve our insureds and to make a fair and honest settlement of all just claims.

About Woodford County Mutual

Woodford County Mutual has been serving Woodford County and the surrounding areas since 1875. The year 2010 will mark our 135th year in business. Now in our 3rd century of service, we will continue to be the same local company dedicated to providing our customers with the best service possible.

Woodford County Mutual Insurance Company was originally named the Roanoke Township Fire Association and was established in 1875 for "the purpose of making insurance against loss or damage from Fire and Lightning" on "the property of a respectable man or woman."

Originally farm mutual companies only served specific townships and WCM did not serve the entire county of Woodford until 1878. The company has made many changes to continue to serve its customers. Including, insuring city property beginning in 1926, selling outside of Woodford County in 1954, and expanding the coverage offered to include: theft coverage in 1956, wind insurance in 1958, multiple peril endorsement in 1960 and liability coverage in 1961.

As the company celebrates its long and storied past, it will continue to grow and change and add more milestones to the company's history. Stop in and say hello to this good ole fashioned company.
